Tamsyn Muir (born March 15, 1985) is the Locus Award winning novelist of The Locked Tomb Series from Howick, New Zealand. Aside from her debut novel, she has written a number of science fiction/fantasy and horror short stories including "Princess Florinda and the Forty-Flight Tower", "The Deepwater Bride", and "The Woman in the Hill". Muir has been nominated for a Nebula Award, World Fantasy Award, Eugie Award, the Shirley Jackson Award and more.
Biography[]
Born in New South Wales, Australia, Muir moved to New Zealand before she was a year old and spent much of her life there. She has a degree in Education, and worked as an English and English as a Second Language teacher for a while, but has since quit her position to pursue a career in writing. She graduated the Clarion Workshop in 2010, and published her first short story, "The House that Made Sixteen Loops" the following year.
Muir has also taken freelance games writing jobs, including a position with Fogbank Studios that was unfortunately shut down before the project could be finished. She currently lives in Oxford, England and is working on her third novel in the Locked Tomb Series, Nona the Ninth.
